Harlan ARH Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year born on Jan. 4, 2021.
London James Anthony was delivered by Lisa Blackwood with MCHC in Harlan on Jan. 4. He weighed 7 pounds and 8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Parents are Martha Jackson and Joseph Anthony. They reside in Pineville.
As the first baby born at Harlan ARH in 2021, the hospital gave London James Anthony and his family a large baby bathtub full of items every baby needs, including a baby monitor.
Harlan ARH Hospital offers private labor-delivery-recovery rooms with private baths in a home-like atmosphere where the focus is on a family-centered birthing experience. The hospital offers rooming in for parents and baby to enhance family bonding and a newborn nursery is also available 24 hours a day in order to allow parents to rest.
“Location, comfort and hospitality supported by a team of highly skilled physicians and nurses are important when selecting an environment to give birth,” said Donnie Fields, Community CEO at Harlan ARH. “You can trust the Harlan ARH OB team to provide compassionate and individualized patient care.”
